For the Seventh Sunday after Easter, the Fashing United Methodist Church observed the Ascension and Aldersgate Sunday with Pastor Rhonda Troll using Acts 1:1-11 as the sermon text. In addition, the pastor emphasized that as we pass particular milestones in our lives, such as graduation, we should reflect on how God has guided us through life’s journey. The Holy Spirit guides through life’s milestones, and God has a plan and a purpose for each our lives.

During Time for Young Disciples, the children were encouraged to keep Jesus in their hearts. Serving as acolytes for the service were Brannon Woelfel and Briley Ernst, and serving as ushers were Stephen Harlos and Blake Elkins.

After the church service, the congregation participated in a luncheon in honor of graduating senior Blake Elkins. Blake is graduating from Falls City High School on June 1.

On May 26, Fashing Church’s new ministry, STRIVE (South Texas Rural Impaired Vision Encouragers) will hold its next meeting at Blanconia Baptist Church, which is outside of Beeville towards Refugio. Anyone interested in attending or seeking more information about STRIVE should contact Linda O’Connell at 830-299-0128.
