Loudmouth golf gratitude

The second annual Moreno Middle School Invitational Golf Tournament was held Saturday, May 19, at the Beeville Country Club. The event was very exciting for the student golfers, their partners and parents.

The tournament itself could not have been a success without help. Beeville Country Club head pro Ken Wilson has gone above and beyond to make the event a great success. For the last two years, Wilson has allowed the golfers to come and golf at no charge. He has opened up the course and made all the golfers feel welcome. Roxane Casas has done a fabulous job in preparing dinner for the entire group of golfers and their families both years. She has graciously opened her house and welcomed all of us with open arms.

Loudmouth Golf and Golf Galaxy have been very generous donating items for the kids both years. I’d be remiss if I did not thank my wife, Lisa. She is the one who kept everything, including me, in order.

Of course, without Larry Jackson and Loudmouth Golf, none of this would be possible. Larry has been with me from the start and has had a big influence on me and my program.

The tournament and program itself owes a great deal of gratitude to the Joe Barnhart Foundation. The foundation plays a key role in acquiring incentives, rewards and supplies so that the Teach Loud, Learn Proud program and the golf tournament can exist. The teachers and students are very grateful and wish to tell the Joe Barnhart Foundation, “Thank you!”

Thank you all so much!

John Johnson
