A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dobie Funeral Home chapel in Mathis. The funeral was held there Wednesday at 3 p.m. Interment will follow in Descanso Eterno No. 2 Cemetery in Mathis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ynosencia S. Garcia, in 2005.
Survivors include his children, Rey Garcia and Elida G. (Alan) Kammeyer of Houston; three sisters, Magge (Manuel) Granados, Anita (Philomeno) Olivarez and Alice (Felipe) Garcia of Mathis; four brothers, Adolfo, Rupert and Daniel Garcia, all of San Antonio, and Julian (Ysabel) Garcia of Mathis; his stepmother, Ciprana Garcia of Mathis; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Dobie Funeral Home, Mathis.
