“We always want to get off to a good start in each game, but against Odem the girls got off to a fantastic start. It was good for the girls to see what they are capable of doing,” said S-T Lady Cat head coach Joseph Grimes III.
The S-T girls added another 23 points to their total in the second quarter to push their lead to 44-17 by the half. It was really over at that point. The pace slowed over the second half and the Lady Cats kept their district record perfect at 7-0 with an easy 64-27 victory over the Lady Owls.
Rachel Mengers did the Owls the most damage with 20 points to lead the Lady Cat scoring. Courtney Vandever and Sagan Gabbert followed with 11 tallies apiece. Ashley Scott hit for nine points in the win. Devon and D’Anne Wilder both scored three points. Alexis Schmidt and Jennifer Pueblo both contributed two markers for the Lady Cats.
The S-T girls were in Taft on Tuesday night to meet the Lady Greyhounds. The Lady Cats will be in Banquete on Friday night to battle the Bulldogs.
