“The girls did a good job sticking to the game plan and adjusting throughout the game. We have come a long way since the beginning,” said A.C. Jones head coach Greg Gonzales.
The Beeville girls came out playing a tough, stingy defense and kept the Sandies from getting anything going their way. It was a 15-9 game at the end of one period and the Beeville girls stretched that to 28-17 by the halftime break.
The second half was much the same. The Lady Trojans created turnovers and scored at will. The outcome was never in doubt as Beeville owned a 17-point lead, 45-28, going into the final stanza.
Then, the Lady Trojans exploded for 22 fourth quarter points to put the exclamation point on the win.
Three Lady Trojans reached double figures with Hillary Hennig hitting for 17 to lead the way. Erin Tabb followed with 15 points. Brandy Perez ended the night with 12 tallies, six coming on two three-pointers.
Melanie Chargualaf contributed with nine points. J.J. Hernandez came off the bench to score five. Cassandra Vela had four and Shanise Wilson contributed three. Courtney Perez closed out the Beeville scoring with two.
The Lady Trojans paid a visit to Rockport last night to meet the Lady Pirates and will return home on Tuesday night to close their season with a home game against the visiting Moody Lady Trojans.
Tuesday night’s contest will be Parents Night.
