VICTORIA - The Goliad 9- and 10-year-old baseball all-star team won one of three games last week at the District 27 Area I Little League tournament at the City of Victoria Sports Complex.

The Goliad 9- and 10-year-old softball team bowed out of the double-elimination District 27 Area I tournament after a pair of losses.

Goliad will be represented this week with teams in the Junior League and 11- and 12-year-old softball tournaments, and Junior League and 11- and 12-year-old baseball tournaments.

The Goliad 9- and 10-year-old baseball all-stars lost 17-3 in the opening round to Victoria Southwest on June 26, but bounced the next day to beat Victoria Northwest 6-3 and stay alive in the tournament. But Goliad was eliminated from the tournament Thursday in a 17-7 loss to Karnes City.

The Goliad 9- and 10-year-old softball all-stars lost 26-15 on June 25 to Calhoun County and 11-10 on Thursday to Karnes City.

The Goliad 11- and 12-year-old softball all-stars played their opening-round game Monday. Goliad and Calhoun County are the only teams in the Junior League softball tournament and began a best-of-three series Tuesday.

The Goliad 11- and 12-year-old baseball all-stars played Victoria Northwest on Sunday.

The Goliad Junior League baseball all-stars will play Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Lowe Field.
