Bulky waste pick-up schedules announced for George West

The City of George West would like to remind the residents of George West of the free bulky waste pick up service provided with your garbage service.

Bulky waste is defined as; stoves, drained water tanks, washing machines, furniture and other waste materials. Bulky waste does not include: construction debris, dead animals, hazardous waste or stable matter. An extra bag of residential reftise or brush is not considered bulky waste.

The City of George West provides brush pick up. The fee depends on the size of the brush pile.

Customers must call City Hall to request brush pick up and the fee will be added to the utility bill, Refrigerators, air conditioners and other devices containing freon must be drained and free of freon and tagged by a certified technician before it can be hauled.

Residents on the east side of Hwy. 281 will be serviced on the 2nd Thursday of each month.

Residents on the west side of Hwy. 281 will be serviced on the 4th Thursday of each month.

Have your bulky items out by the curb by 7 a.m. on your pick up day. Any items not out by 7 a.m. will not be picked up for another month.
