Climbing Wall
Climbing Wall
By Cathy Passmore

The Karnes City Community Chamber of Commerce wants to thank all of the community members and guests for coming to and participating in Saturday’s Family Fun-Fitness Day. The Karnes City Park was able to accommodate a lot of people who participated in the Bike, Walk, Run Event and who wanted to be able to have their blood pressure, blood sugar level and other health items monitored by the team from the Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital. They were also one of the largest sponsors of our day in the park. So we are grateful and appreciative for their help and contributions. The King Carpet Cleaning Company, Peak Royalties, Merrill Lynch, Karnes County National Bank, Butler Attorneys at Law, The Big B, Shelley Walter Realtor, Karnes County Historical Society, Karnes City’s Fire and Police Departments, Dwayne Villanueva and Jimmy Loya Families, The Butler Ranch, The Young Progressives, United Methodist Church, Eddie Salas Family, and many other sponsors helped to make it a big success. Dan Mulligan, CEO of Peak Royalties and members of his family and staff drove all the way from Irving, Texas, to be with us at the park. And they made a video of all the goings on of that day.

One of the very interesting and fascinating items that day at the City Park was the 65 foot tall rock climbing wall. It certainly seemed quite a challenge to try to climb it! And once again we welcomed Wilhelm “Pit” Vins, a world-wide bicycle rider to help with and lead the bicycle group.

So again, we wish to thank all of our sponsors and contributors to make it a very special day for the Karnes City Community Chamber of Commerce.

‘Til next time, Cathy Passmore
