Hays County DPS Trooper Freddy Duran was on hand Friday morning to help monitor the scales at the new Karnes County weigh station located near the intersection of US Highway 181 and State Highway 123. Trooper Duran checked the weight on the rear axil of a truck as it pulled on the scale behind him. Local officials gathered Friday morning for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the weigh station which is located on the outskirts of Karnes City.
