The Corpus Christi Moody girls were in Beeville on Tuesday night to close out the sub-varsity basketball season. The JV game went to Moody, 51-24, while the Beeville freshman team earned a 27-25 victory over the visitors.

The junior varsity tilt wasn’t close but the Beeville girls played hard but just could not get a shot to drop.

Natalie Dominguez led the Beeville scoring with eight points. Krista Gonzales hit for seven tallies. Chastity Rodriguez had six points in the loss. Jade Trevino completed the Beeville scoring with three tallies.

In the freshman contest, the Beeville girls trailed by one, 7-6, at the end of the first quarter but reversed that by the halftime break with a one-point lead of their own at 10-9. The local ladies added another point to their margin by the end of the third period and took a 17-15 lead into the final quarter.

The teams traded baskets in the fourth with each team adding 10 points to the score board to make it a close, 27-25, win for the Beeville girls.

Alisa Patterson led the Beeville scoring with eight points. Solidad Garcia and Chrissi Casanova both hit for six markers. Jalynn Olivo recorded four points in the win and Bethany San Miguel finished the night with three points.

The victory gives the Lady Trojans a 15-11 overall mark for the season and they finished 8-4 in district play.

“This was a great way to end a remarkable season. I had the privilege of coaching some very unique and talented young ladies,” said freshman coach Ophelia De Los Santos.
