Skidmore-Tynan ISD Superintendent Brett Belmarez was formally given his award as the Region 2 Superintendent of the Year recently. Shown here, surrounded by staff and board trustees, Belmarez holds the trophy he received on Wednesday during a ceremony in Corpus Christi. He will now compete for the title of state Superintendent of the Year against the other regional winners. In August, the state committee will interview regional winners in Austin and select five state finalists. The Superintendent of the Year will be announced Sept. 28 at the TASA/TASB Convention in Austin.
