Thank you, thank you, thank you

Three Rivers Junior chapter of Family Career and Community Leaders would like to thank the community for their support in our goal to recycle 100 cell phones.

Thanks to the public, Valero employees and the students and staff at Three Rivers High School and Three Rivers Middle School we were able to collect 106 old, unused cell phones.

That is 106 potentially hazardous cell phones that Motorola will recycle to keep the lead, mercury, arsenic and cadmium from leaching into our soil and groundwater.

Because only 2% of old cell phones are currently being recycled, our community is taking an active part in protecting our environment.
