The JHS junior varsity soccer teams were in San Antonio on Saturday to challenge the Harlandale Indians.

The teams split with the Lady Trojans earning a 4-3 victory and the Trojan JV losing a 6-2 match to the Indians.

The Lady Trojans opened the two-game road trip by getting out to a 2-1 lead after the first 35 minutes of action. The second half had the Beeville girls get two more goals and the Harlandale ladies matched that output, but could not get the tying goal. The Beeville girls captured the win at 4-3.

Beeville got goals from Porsha Beltran, Daisey Fish, Alison Patterson and Ruth Owunna.

The boys’ contest went to the Indians behind the six-goal scoring effort from the home team. The Trojans did get two goals past the opponents’ keeper but it wasn’t enough.

Both Beeville goals came off the foot of Jose Amador with assists from Jeremy Byrd and Jacob Gomez.

Coaches spotlighted the defensive efforts of Wes Wesson and the goal keeping of Peyton Tabb.

The teams played at home on Monday night against the McCollum Cowboys and Cowgirls.
