Goliad Main Street invites the public to view “Joyful Noise” in its 2012 Summer Movies Under the Stars Series finale on Friday night.

The movie will be projected on the side of Dr. Garza’s building located on Courthouse Square starting at 9 p.m. Admission is free and the Main Street Board will be selling popcorn, soda water, and pickles for $1.

“Joyful Noise” stars Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah and is an inspirational comedy.

The small town of Pacashau, Ga., has fallen on hard times, but the people are counting on the Divinity Church Choir to lift their spirits by winning the National Joyful Noise Competition. The choir has always known how to sing in harmony, but the discord between its two leading ladies now threatens to tear it apart.

Guests are asked to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets.
