Ramond Ramirez Sr., 65, of Refugio pleaded guilty in district court on July 18 to indecency with a child by sexual contact. The offense occurred in August 2011 and involved a 14-year-old child.
Koetter ordered Ramirez to move because of his home’s proximity to the Refugio Head Start School on Fairgrounds Road.
“The defendant must sell and relocate on or before Oct. 18, 2012,” according to the court document.
In the plea agreement, Ramirez also must complete 300 hours of community service, pay $219 court costs and enroll in a drug treatment program.
Ramirez, who was represented by Talia Villafranca, gave up his rights to appeal the decision.
Had Ramirez not agreed to the plea bargain, he could have faced 2-10 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and a $10,000 fine.
