Sara Valencia has been proving her skill with a rifle since joining the 4-H Beeville Shooting Sports Club in 2010. This year, she advanced to the Junior Intermediate Division for 11-12-year-olds, shooting two targets from the prone position and one from the kneeling position. She had a slow start for the season, placing second, fourth and 10th in the County Invitationals but finished in the top spot and won the District Championship in the Junior Intermediate Division with a score of 264.5. She also assisted her team in taking a first place title in the district. Sara began shooting in the Junior Division for 9-10 year-old shooters, and last year, she won the District Championship and was recognized for being the highest point shooter in her division. She also helped the Junior Team capture several first place honors during that season.
