Surrounded by friends and family, Anita Lorraine Hemphill Fluharty and Felipe Leal, Jr., were married Aug. 4, 2012, at Presidio La Bahia Chapel in Goliad, Texas. The Rev. Alec Fluharty performed the double-ring ceremony.

Anita is the daughter of Brenda and Danny Hemphill of Three Rivers and Felipe is the son of Georgia and Felipe, Sr., of Kenedy.

Presented in marriage by her brother, Danny Hemphill, Jr., the bride was attended by her daughter, Kayla Fluharty, as maid of honor, as well as Audrianna Leal as bridesmaid, and Abbie Maldonado as flower girl.

Bobby Leal, brother of groom, was groomsman. Benjamin Leal served as ring bearer. Ushers were Bo Griffith and Brent Hemphill.

Guests were treated to special readings during the ceremony, performed by Angela Hemphill, Andrea Beard, and Marina Villanueva. A reception was held at Espirito Santo de Zuniga Mission in Goliad State Park. The bride and groom honeymooned with their children by taking a Caribbean cruise.

Both the bride and groom are graduates of Kenedy High School. The bride is currently Executive Director for CHRISTUS Health Plan. The groom is serving as a Calvary Scout in the U.S. Army, with the rank of Sergeant First Class. The newlyweds reside in Seabrook, Texas.
