Todd Staples, state agriculture commissioner and Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, will speak on border security issues at the Beeville Rotary Club on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

The program accompanied with a lunch is open to all interested citizens. Staples has been a vocal critic of federal border security policies.

Tickets for non-Rotarians are $25 per person and are available through making reservations by Sept. 14 to John Galloway, 358-2512; Jon Fischer, 375-2194; or the Bee County Chamber of Commerce, 358-3267. All net proceeds will go to the Beeville Rotary Club’s scholarship fund.

The Beeville Rotary Club meets at noon each Wednesday at the Beeville Country Club.
