KARNES CITY – After a successful first year, the KCISD Education Foundation hopes to build on its momentum and continue raising funds and awareness of the monetary needs within all classrooms in KCISD.

One of the group’s goals for this year is to ramp up developing long-term relationships with area oil companies and the service companies who work for them.

The group plans to start creating “Corporate Partners in Education” as these companies develop one of the biggest oil plays in the U.S. which lies within Karnes County.

Of course, area businesses, organizations and families are also encouraged to get involved as the foundation appreciates any help in reaching their goals.

All are invited to monetarily support the Badger district that has faithfully served the Karnes City community since 1894.

Organizers are asking everyone to “Save the Date” for a special event.

All friends of the district are invited to attend the foundation’s 2nd Annual “Boots ‘N Bling Gala” celebrating donors to this fundraising drive. The Gala will have a Valentine theme this year and will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the Panna Maria Dance Hall.

Want to become a Corporate Partner, make donation or pledge?

If so, the foundation encourages anyone who is interested to contact VP of Development, Debby Martin at 830-780-3534; or Email the foundation at info@kcisdfoundation.org or visit the group’s website: www.kcisdfoundation.org

With one year under the foundation’s belt, the Education Foundation Board is going to soon start asking individuals to fill out a one page survey as a way to see how the foundation can better serve the district.

The public’s input is important in the foundation’s strategic planning.

The Karnes City ISD Education Foundation is comprised of business and community leaders who have a connection to Karnes City ISD and a common desire for promoting its excellence in education.

Proceeds help fund innovative Instructional Classroom Grants, a Senior Celebration at the end of the school year, and an Endowment for the school district and more.

The success of the foundation cannot happen without the support of businesses and individuals in the community who want to make a difference in education by financially supporting foundation fundraising activities.
