It is an awesome thing to be in Kenedy, Texas at this time. Things are happening, growing and changing on a daily basis. This past week was a busy one. Monday we went before the city to work on getting our new building started. On Tuesday we attended the City Council meeting and meet several people looking forward to building and bringing more people and companies to Kenedy on a more permanent basis. Thursday, the Kenedy Chamber of Commerce hosted its very first Microsoft Community Connections program and we are proud to say that our own Leslie Wynn was the winner of Microsoft Professional 2010. We will have several more of these programs throughout the year, so come on out and join us. You may walk away with a new program!

Friday was 2nd Friday breakfast in Karnes City. It was well attended by Karnes City, but I’d love to see more Kenedy people attend. If you’d like to get on the notification list, please contact me at the chamber at 583-3223. Next month will be here at the new Merrell Lynch office. On Thursday of this week we will be welcoming them to our community with a ribbon cutting.

This weekend is the Lonesome Dove Festival in Karnes City and Oct. 20 will be our Six Shooter Junction Shoot-Out Golf Tournament. Right down the road we are looking at our annual Radio Auction and Christmas festivities. It’s a great time to be a Kenedy Chamber of Commerce member! Your membership is the reason we are able to do so many great things to get Kenedy!
