REFUGIO — The Refugio County Texas Exes have postponed their annual tournament until Saturday, Oct. 27, due to several reasons.

On Sept. 21, dove season opens and a number of our golfers will go dove hunting. Hopefully, the postponed date will be good for the tournament which is usually a lot of fun.

Golfers, mark the change on your calendars and plan on playing then.

There hasn’t been a whole lot going on at the club so “Klips” has been out of pocket for a while.

The recent rains have helped to alleviate some of the drought that we have been experiencing. The course is greening up and looking pretty good and the greens are in pretty good shape.

Golfers should thank Neal Haertig for all the hard work he puts into making the course a better one. He has had some help, particularly from his son, Willie, in accomplishing that feat.

We are preparing for an influx of Winter Texans starting in October. We hope that we have a bunch because they will be good for the club.

Don’t forget that Tuesdays and Thursdays are set aside for Game Nites. Play starts at 6 p.m.

On Wednesday night, we have the After Work Scrambles. Sign up by 5:30 p.m. Tee off will be at 6 p.m.

Golfers, the greatest sound in golf is Whoosh, Whoosh, Whoosh, of your opponent’s club as he hurls it across the fairway.
