Kenedy Public Library gearing up for Halloween

Trick or treat, books are sweet, plus there's candy you can eat!

As the Halloween season fast approaches, the Kenedy Public Library has books and programs to put you in the holiday mood. We have mystery, ghost stories and creepy tales books that will keep you on your toes or just keep you turning pages!

We also have children’s titles that are funny and hilarious! Halloween DVDs are also available! All check-outs are free as long as you returned materials back by due date! Kids receive a free Halloween bag during the month of October when you check out 2 books. Only one bag per child.

Trick or Treat at the library for candy from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Wed. Oct. 31. So make the Kenedy Public Library your Trick or Treat stop!

And for those of you who still haven’t decided on a Halloween costume, the library will have a costume program “Costuming on the Cheap” on Monday, Oct. 15 at 4:15 p.m. Explore the question of how to achieve a lot of costume for little cash! Our creative staff and volunteers have put together costumes for little to nothing budget! See and hear how they did it and share your own ideas for great Halloween disguises and costumes. Sign-up when you come in to have a chance to win one of the costumes that will be shown at program. Winner must be present.

And in addition to this program, the library will have pumpkin carving and using stickers to decorate your Jack-lantern on Monday, Oct. 22 at 4:15 p.m. So bring your pumpkin to decorate.
