The project will be completed in two phases.
The first phase known as “level up” finished last week and the second phase known as the “seal coat” phase is set to begin in the next week or two.
Sections of eleven different streets scattered throughout Kenedy are being improved as a result of the project.
Residents are asked not to park vehicles on these streets during the course of the project during normal working hours.
Residents are strongly encouraged to obey the flag person who redirects traffic during the course of the work project on city streets.
City officials also ask residents along these streets to not water their lawns the evening before paving work is scheduled.
Residents are asked to keep children away from the construction area and equipment and also drive slowly and cautiously on city streets that are only halfway complete, awaiting the second sealcoat phase.
All residences along streets involved in the project have been delivered flyers with complete details and instructions. For more information, contact Kenedy City Hall at 583-2230.
