The band was formed in 2007 after lead vocalist and guitar player J. P. Manley pulled the group together for his birthday party.
After that, they continued to get requests for shows and decided to go out and hit the road, playing all over the U.S.
Based out of Seattle, Wash., the band will be making their way to Papalote, playing numerous shows in between.
But what makes the tribute band stand out over the usual cover band is the fact that they’re raising money for the Waylon Fund in the fight against diabetes.
Waylon Jennings came down with the disease late in life, and mixed with a life of addiction and touring, he eventually died in 2002.
The Waylon Jennings Research Fund gives money to support diabetes research.
All contributions received will be put to work immediately to speed the development of new treatments and diagnostics for patients suffering from diabetes and its complications.
The Outlaw (a tribute to Waylon Jennings) will take the stage around 9 p.m., so pull up your boots and show your support for a great cause and a great night of live Waylon tunes.
