Local election results will be posted online at mysoutex.com on Election Night, Nov. 6, as soon as they are available, but will not be in the Nov. 7 printed newspaper due to the fact that the newspapers will have been printed before results are known.
Voters will decide many local, statewide and federal offices on the ballot.
Candidates will compete for two local positions.
Democratic candidate Herb Hancock will compete against Republican candidate Betty Yarter for the position of county attorney.
Democratic candidate Shelby Dupnik will compete against Republican candidate Gary Deskin for the position of county commissioner, precinct 1.
In addition to selection of candidates, Karnes County voters will decide a proposition issuing $7 million in bonds for the construction of a new county jail, sheriff’s office and courtroom.
Karnes City ISD voters will decide whether or not to authorize the school district to purchase attendance credits from the state and/or educate students of other school districts with local tax revenues.
