The Pettus Eagle varsity cross country team captured first place at the recent district meet and will advance to the Region IV meet in San Antonio on Nov. 3 at the NSC Complex on Roft Road. The boys were led by Silvestre Sanchez’s sixth place medal. Collin Hargrove crossed the finish line in 11th and was followed by Clay Brown in 17th. Taylor Towner was near by in 19th, and Raul Casarez placed 23rd overall. Anthony Ramirez placed 29th for the Eagles. The entire team advances to the Region IV meet.
The Lady Eagles placed seventh overall but had two runners in the top 10 to qualify to make the trip to SA for the region meet. Anna Elder placed sixth overall to medal and Hana Kruger was ninth at district.
Rounding out the Lady Eagle squad were Tristian Moore, Randi Arrisola and Madi Garza.
“I am very pleased with the performance of all our runners. They all displayed a great effort,” said Pettus head coach Erica Garza.
“We look forward to a great regional meet performance.”
The Region IV meet will be held at the NSC Complex at 5931 Roft Road in San Antonio.
