REFUGIO — As the dust settled from Sunday’s town hall meeting in Woodsboro, a storm of protesters came to a special called meeting of the commissioners court Monday afternoon.

Of the 40 citizens who filed into the district courtroom, not one had anything positive to say about trading hundreds of thousands of dollars for artificial turf in exchange for a piece of property where a multi-purpose dome would be built.

Among the protestors was Austwell-Tivoli ISD Superintendent Anthony Aguirre.

At the end of the session, Judge Rene Mascorro announced the commissioners will host meetings across the county to discuss concerns.
