“Both sides played well and the girls got lots of playing experience for both teams,” said JV coach Melinda Trevino.
The final score was 5-1 with all six goals scored by Beeville girls. Daisy Fish scored the first goal of the game about five minutes into the match with a short kick out front. The rest of the 30-minute half went by with neither team getting anything else into the nets.
The Lady Trojan offense got rolling the second half. Fish got her second goal of the night with about six and a half minutes gone in the second half. Then, Alisa Patterson took things into her own hands, or feet. Patterson scored the lone Floresville goal at the 14:58 mark as she was playing for the Jaguars at the time.
The Lady Trojans kept things close until about the 4:44 mark. Alisa was back in the burnt orange and white and scored three goals over the waning minutes of the match. Patterson hit on a breakaway with 4:44 remaining to play and then struck again just a minute and 23 seconds later.
The final goal of the game came with just two minutes left on the clock. It was Patterson again for her third Beeville goal. She finished with four on the night, but only three counted for the Lady Trojans.
Ruth Owunna was in goal for the Lady Trojans and did a good job, according to coach Melinda Trevino. Elyssa Mann, Raeleigh Campos, Leslie Alaniz, Samantha Moya and Monica Garza all played well on defense for the Beeville squad. Amanda Alvarez, Porsha Beltran, Alison Patterson and Alisa Patterson all kept things going on offense. Most everyone played some time with the Jaguars to help them out and complete the game.
It was the season finale for both JV squads.
