It’s Official. Christmas has come to Kenedy. Lots of things happening this month. This weekend the lighting of Joe Gulley Park brought Santa into town with the Bluebonnet Court and Ms. Brandi, Ms. Trina and Ms. Candice. While Santa spoke with every one of the children who had come to meet him, the queens court gave gifts to each child before they left. When the lights went on, the park lit up and it was beautiful.
With Christmas just weeks away, keep in mind that the Annual Radio Auction will be held this year Dec. 13, starting at 9 a.m. at the Kenedy Chamber office at 216 W. Main Street, aka the little red school house. Gifts will be available from all the businesses in the county. Buying locally is so important to the Kenedy economy. We will have the items available at the chamber office, or you may pick up your winnings at the store that made the donation.
This month also brings our Annual Christmas Decorating Contest! Come by the chamber office to pick up your entry form to be judged. Office hours are 9:30 to 5:00 Monday – Friday. Judging will be promptly at dark on Dec. 20 so please have your lights on at dusk. Winners will be notified Friday Dec. 21st by phone. We will want to take pictures, deliver your award and provide a sign for your yard designating your home as 1st, 2nd or 3rd place winner. Please have your registration form in by December 14.
Have you noticed our new building going up at 205 S. 2nd Street? It’s exciting to see it go up beam by beam. We are anticipating a move in date in late January. More to come on the building progress.
Last month, Nov. 7, the Kenedy Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting at A Dependable Drug Testing at 491 N. Sunset Strip Ste. 125. Kenedy is the 4th office opening by owner John DeRouen. The Kenedy office is managed by Craig Henline.
