Tigerette basketball tournament tips off Thursday

GOLIAD – Twelve high school girls basketball teams, including one from Australia, will compete in the 2012 Goliad Tigerette Invitational, which begins Thursday.

Yoakum and Columbus will tip off the tournament at 9 a.m. at the Goliad Events Center. Cuero and Falls City will follow at 10:30 a.m. and Goliad will take on Orange Grove at noon.

The other games at the Goliad Events Center on Thursday will be Schulenburg vs. El Campo at 1:30 p.m., Shiner vs. Columbus at 3 p.m., Cuero vs. Redemption at 4:30 p.m., Queensland (Australia) vs. Goliad at 6 p.m., and Victoria Faith Academy vs. Schulenburg at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday's games at the high school gym are Shiner vs. Yoakum at noon, Redemption vs. Falls City at 1:30 p.m., Orange Grove vs. Queensland at 3 p.m., and El Campo vs. Faith Academy at 4:30 p.m.
