There are a number of ways to help “Silver Santa” give toys and clothing to hundreds of children in Goliad County:

• Give a new toy – these can be dropped off at City Hall or the Sheriff’s Office.

• Money – this can be deposited directly into the Silver Santa account at American Bank or left at the Sheriff’s Office marked for Silver Santa. This money will be used to buy toys and clothing for each child.

• Donate wrapping paper, gift boxes or gift bags. There are between 700 and 1000 items to wrap.

• Volunteer to wrap gifts or organize the handout. This begins on Dec. 19 at 9 a.m. at the Julie Wimberley Building. There will also be wrapping and organizing on Dec. 20 and 21. Handout is on Saturday, Dec. 22 in the morning, and volunteers are needed on that day as well.

Each year, there is a large giveaway of gently used clothing, coats, blankets, shoes, etc. Those items will be accepted on Dec. 19-21 at the Julie Wimberley Building.
