Alice Whitley, with the Beeville school, said there was no threat made to the local campus and the children were never in any danger.
The parents of those children upset by the precautionary 1:30 p.m. lockdown were called and allowed to pick up their students.
A few parents did pick up their children early.
“If parents wanted to come get their children, after a period of time they were allowed to come sign their children out and pick up their children,” she said.
The lockdown just meant that the children remained in their classrooms from 1:30 p.m. until dismissal at 4 p.m.
