The Texas Judicial Academy honored Goliad County Judge David W. Bowman for going the extra mile to be prepared to handle his duties as county judge.

Judge Bowman was inducted as a Fellow in the Texas Judicial Academy on Nov. 15 at a reception in Galveston during the 2012 Fall Judicial Education Session.

Each year, the Academy, a partnership between the Texas Tech University School of Law and the Texas Association of Counties, names as Fellows those judges who attain significant judicial education above that required by state law.

The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals oversees the educational program of the Texas Judicial Academy and provides instruction by higher court judges, law school faculty and representatives of the Texas Probate College and the National Judicial College.
