He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Irene Sosa; his parents, Santiago Sosa and Guadalupe Contreras; three sons, Ernesto, Clemente Jr. and Jimmy Sosa; a grandson, Daniel R. Mendoza; and two sons-in-law, Lionel Mendoza and Manuel Olivares.
Survivors include five daughters, Lupe Mendoza of Portland, Olga Sosa Olivares of Skidmore, Viola (Juan) Martinez and Janie (Pete) Guerrero, both of Corpus Christi, and Sylvia (Reymundo) Ortiz of Rockport; two sons, Ralph Sosa of Corpus Christi and Tony Sosa of Portland; three sisters, Manuela Vega of Beeville, Florencia DeRusse of Dallas and Ernestina Tamez of Beeville; one brother, Martin Tamez of Corpus Christi; 29 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Limbaugh Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. that evening.
The funeral service will be conducted this morning (Wednesday) at 10 o’clock at the Limbaugh Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dan Sanford officiating. Burial followed in the Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Reymundo Ortiz Jr., Ruben Ortiz, Michael S. Olivares, Jimmy Sosa Jr., Lionel Mendoza Jr., Jesse Sosa and Eddie Martinez. Honorary pallbearers were Tony Sosa and Ralph Sosa.
Arrangements were under the direction of Limbaugh Funeral Home, Portland.
