Both charges are third degree felonies.
Deputies alleged that Clifton struck a child under the age of 14 with a board on June 27, 2008.
Bond was $5,000.
Others indicted include a 27-year-old man who was already facing felony burglary and retaliation charges and who failed to appear in court as promised.
Grand jurors returned an indictment against Steven Guajardo Servantes on two counts of bail jumping in connection with his missed court date.
Servantes was named in a complaint filed by District Court Bailiff Tom Brown earlier this month after the defendant failed to appear in court on March 10.
District Judge Joel Johnson set bond on the man at $30,000 following the March 12 grand jury session.
Servantes was to appear to answer charges on two separate counts of burglary of a habitation.
On Feb. 19, Bee County grand jurors indicted the defendant on one count of burglary of a habitation and one count of retaliation.
Bee County Sheriff’s Office investigator Capt. Dan Caddell alleged that Servantes broke into the home of a local man on Oct. 2, 2008.
Burglary of a habitation is a second degree felony but the charge was enhanced to a first degree felony because Servantes had a previous felony conviction on a charge of aggravated assault, serious bodily injury on Jan. 6, 1997, in juvenile court in Bee County.
First degree felonies are punishable by a prison term of from five to 99 years or life and a fine of as much as $10,000.
The indictment on the retaliation charge also was enhanced from a third degree to a second degree felony based on the same juvenile court conviction.
Second degree felonies convictions can result in a prison sentence ranging from two to 20 years and a fine of as much as $10,000.
Servantes was out of jail on two $25,000 bonds on those two burglary charges when he was to appear in court on March 10.
The bail jumping charges were filed as third degree felonies after they were enhanced based on the same juvenile court conviction on an assault charge.
A conviction on a third degree felony charge could result in a prison term of from two to ten years and a fine of as much as $10,000.

•Kathy Michelle Clifton in a two-count indictment on charges of injury to a child.

•John Casey Campbell on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, one to four grams.
The charge is a third degree felony.
Beeville Police Department investigators filed the charge in connection with an Oct. 12, 2008, incident in which they claimed he had the drug in his possession.
Bond was $2,000.
•Guadalupe Garcia III in a two-count indictment on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, 1-4 grams and possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility.
Both charges are third degree felonies.
Beeville police claimed Garcia had the drug in his possession on Nov. 10, 2008, and that he was in the Bee County Jail when he had it.
Bond was $1,500.
•Steve Garza Lara on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a third degree felony.
Highway Patrol Trooper Shawn Stephenson alleged that the defendant had a firearm in his possession somewhere other than his residence on Oct. 14, 2008.
Lara had a previous felony conviction on a charge of possession of marijuana in Williamson County on April 19, 1990.
Bond was $5,000.
•Lacey D. Daughtrey on a charge of driving while intoxicated, a third degree felony.
According to Trooper Stephenson, Daughtrey was operating a motor vehicle on Jan. 17 while intoxicated.
The defendant had previous DWI convictions on July 11, 2003, and on July 21, 2004. both in Bee County.
Bond was $2,500.
•Rodolfo Magana on a charge of DWI, a third degree felony.
Trooper Santiago Montez arrested the defendant on a DWI charge on Nov. 27, 2008.
The trooper cited two previous DWI convictions on April 9, 1991, in San Patricio County and on April 24, 2002, in Bee County.
Bond was $2,500.
•Valentin Garza on a charge of burglary of a building, a state jail felony.
Deputies alleged that Garza entered a building owned by another man on Jan. 27 with the intent to commit theft.
Bond was $5,000.
•Tomas Zuniga Jr. on a charge of evading arrest with a vehicle.
According to sheriff’s office investigators, the defendant used a motor vehicle on Jan. 17 to escape from Deputy Brandon Burdick.
Bond was $2,500.
•Billy Wade Stepp on a charge of evading arrest with a vehicle, a state jail felony.
Stepp was accused by city officers of using a motor vehicle to flee from Assistant Police Chief Kenneth Jefferson on Nov. 2, 2008.
Bond was $2,500.
•Two people, Sean Michael Soto and Vanity Soto, were named in two separate indictments apparently related to the same theft incident that took place on April 15, 2008.
The charge listed in each indictment was theft, $1,500-$20,000. It is a state jail felony.
According to BPD detectives, the two defendants took jewelry from a local woman on that day.
Bond was $2,500 for each suspect.
•Lauro Lee Vela on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender, a state jail felony.
Vela was accused of failing to report to the BPD by May 5, 2008, that he was residing here for more than seven days after he had been adjudicated on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Bond was $5,000.
•Josie Trejo on 25 counts of theft by check, $1,500-$20,000, a state jail felony.
Authorities alleged that Trejo cashed the checks between Dec. 15, 2007, and Jan. 8, 2008, on an account that had insufficient funds.
Bond was $5,000.
•Gloria Zapata Molina on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, less than one gram.
The offense is a state jail felony.
Deputies accused the defendant of having the drug in her possession on Oct. 27, 2008.
Bond was $5,000.
•Sherry Lynn Arrisola on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, less than one gram, a state jail felony.
Police arrested Arrisola in connection with a Sept. 22, 2008, incident in which she was found to have the drug on her.
Bond was $1,500.
•Juan Carlos Duran on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, less than one gram.
The charge is a state jail felony.
BPD officers claimed the defendant had the drug on June 29, 2008.
Bond was $5,000.
•Victoria Anna Gutierrez on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, methadone, less than one gram.
The offense is a state jail felony.
Police claim she had the drug on July 24, 2007.
Bond was $2,500.
•Lee Ann Morton on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, less than one gram, a state jail felony.
Police claimed they found the drug in her possession on April 19, 2007.
Bond was $2,500.
•Yvette Arismendez Garza was named in a three-count indictment on charges of driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15 in the vehicle.
The charge is a state jail felony.
Highway Patrol Trooper Stephenson arrested the defendant on the charge on Jan. 24, 2009.
She allegedly had three children under the age of 15 in the vehicle with her when she was under the influence of alcohol on Jan. 24.
Bond was $2,500.
