On behalf of the Beeville Independent School District and the community, I would like to thank the Beeville Concert Association, Coastal Bend College, The Coastal Bend Community Foundation, the Cathryn Berninger Endowment and the Joe Barnhart Foundation for bringing the wonderful concerts by the San Antonio Symphony to Beeville last week.

On Thursday afternoon, through the generosity of these organizations, the orchestra treated high school band students and students in grades 4, 5 and 6 to afternoon concerts. These were great experiences for the students to hear a world-class orchestra perform. It added a lot for the symphony to include information on a slide show and also to have an actor portray Franz Joseph Haydn to explain the music. I thank the students and their teachers for being good concert attendees.

The evening concert was also great. All of the pieces were fantastic. I especially enjoyed Mozart’s Horn Concerto Number 4. It was great to be entertained, educated and enlightened by these wonderful musicians!

Thanks again to everyone who brought this cultural experience to Beeville.
