The Live Oak Tumblers celebrated their Fourth Year in Live Oak County on Sept. 1. The gym is owned and operated by Penny Green-Rios. The Live Oak Tumblers consist of girls and boys from Live Oak, Bee and McMullen Counties. Their first performance of 2013 was held at the Three Rivers High School basketball game on Jan. 15. We would like to say a special Thank You to the Three Rivers Athletic Department for making this possible. These kids have been working hard to assure this performance was a success.

In August 2012, Mrs. Penny decided to create a Competition Team which became known as “Flipping by Faith”. On Sept. 7, this team, which consists of 11 girls ranging in age from 4 to 10, became members of USA Gymnastics or USAG. Flipping by Faith will begin their competition season with their first meet in Victoria, Texas on Jan. 26. Following this meet, they will travel to Houston, Texas in February for the Houston National Invitational and will continue to Louisiana in March, and end their season with the State Meet in Austin. This group of kids have worked hard every week in anticipation for their first ever Competition Season.

As this is something new to this community, we ask that you come out on Feb. 2 and show your support for these gymnasts as they will be hosting the First Annual Winter Festival at the City Square in Three Rivers, Texas. The festival will begin with an exhibition performance by Live Oak Tumblers as well as Team Flipping by Faith at 10:30 a.m.. Please come out and support them as they try to raise money so they may continue to Flip by Faith!
