WOODSBORO – Goliad's Emily Perez scored a game-high 24 points and teammate Melanie Jones added 15 to lead the Tigerettes to a 54-37 Class 2A area playoff win over the Taft Lady Greyhounds on Friday night at the Eagle Dome.

The Tigerettes will face Saturday's Marion-San Diego winner in the regional quarterfinals next week. If Marion wins, it will face the Tigerettes at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the first game of a doubleheader. The Goliad Tigers will face the Marion Bulldogs at 8 p.m. in a boys bi-district playoff game.

The Tigerettes, who rolled past Cotulla 57-26 in Tuesday's bi-district round, jumped out to a 29-11 halftime lead and never looked back. The Lady Greyhounds pulled within no closer than 11 points the rest of the game.
