BEEVILLE — The Lady Trojan varsity soccer girls are having a tough time scoring. The Beeville girls were blanked on Friday night by the visiting Pleasanton Eaglettes, but the Beeville defense returned the favor, and the game ended as a 0-0 tie.

The Lady Trojans have not scored a goal in their last seven matches.

The defensive effort was superb as Taylor Castillo, Celeste Contreras, Sydney Wesson, Heather McKinney, keeper Randi Maupin, Claire McKinney and a host of midfielders kept the Eaglettes away from the Beeville goal.

Head coach Don Ledesma also got good minutes from freshman MacKenzie Harvey, who played with aggression and fire at midfield.

The Lady Trojans played at home on Tuesday night against the McCollum Cowgirls. On Friday, the Beeville girls will be in San Antonio to test the Southside Lady Cardinals.
