Tigers fall in title game

KENEDY – The Goliad Tigers fell to the Kenedy Lions 7-1 in the championship game Saturday of the Kenedy Tournament.

The Tigers beat Skidmore-Tynan 10-2 in their first game behind JJ Stastny, Denton Ohrt and Davis Ohrt, who each had two hits. Joseph Lujan allowed just three hits and struck out five to get the win.

Dustin Franke went 3-for-4 and got the win on the mound in Goliad’s 17-2 four-inning win over Jourdanton. Denton Ohrt and Dustin Heibel each two hits for the Tigers.

Heibel went 2-for-4 in the loss to Kenedy.
