Goliad High School is starting a SPARK (Successfully Provide Adults Resources and Knowledge) program.

The mission of SPARK is to provide the adults of the Goliad community with the necessary resources and knowledge to become lifelong learners.

Those who were unable to receive a high school diploma and have been out of school for at least three years, can complete their education and become a graduate of Goliad High School. Online classes are available through Odysseyware, a provider of online curriculum and eLearning solutions.

SPARK can also help those taking college classes and needing Internet access by providing Internet access at the PRIDE Center at GHS.

SPARK will also provide mini-courses throughout each semester. The GISD website will have a listing of dates and times for each mini-course offering.

SPARK registration will be held at the GHS PRIDE Center on Monday, March 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

For information, contact Emilio Vargas, III, Goliad High School Principal; or Pam Hailey, PRIDE Center Director, at 361-645-3257.

Those interested can also contact De Helmer, Director of Instructional Technology for GISD, at 361-645-3259 ext. 150. Information and updates can be found on the GISD web page at
