BEEVILLE — The host Moreno Middle School Trojans fared well at the Feb. 21 track and field meet held at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Not all the results were received for print.

On the boys’ side of the meet in the field events, Randy DeLeon placed third in the shot put in the seventh-grade competition with a toss of 33-9. Eighth-grader Rudy Casarez placed sixth in the shot with a throw of 32-10. Rosendo DeLeon was fourth in the discus with a throw of 93-6 for the eighth grade.

The MMS girls had a good day with several girls earning places and ribbons.

In the shot put, Marianna Botello placed fifth with a toss of 20-5. Daniella Esparza was sixth in the discus at 49-3.25; Lois Downing captured fourth in the high jump, clearing 4-0. Raeann Flores was second in the long jump with a leap of 14-5.25, and she captured a first place ribbon in the triple jump at 29-2.5.

Kaitlyn Pelitire was first in the pole vault event with a 6-0 jump. Brandy Rios was first in the 2,400-meter run with a time of 10:11. Paige Knapp was sixth in the same event at 11:17.

The 400-meter relay squad of Kailey Perez, Pelitire, Kayla Johns and Flores captured first place. The same foursome was also first in the 800-meter relay with a time of 1:59.93.

Victoria Treviño was second in the 100-meter hurdles in 19:93. Alexus Garza, Daniella Perez, Kelsey Gutierrez and Caleigh Ybarra were fourth in the 800-meter relay for the young Lady Trojans.

Briana Garza placed fifth on the 300-meter hurdles at 58.52. Gutierrez placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.92. Knapp placed fifth in the 1,600-meter run in 7:02.

The team of Pelitire, Johns, Raeann Flores and Brandy Flores captured first place in the 1,600-meter relay event. The squad of Kailey Perez, Daniella Perez, Briana Garza and Ybarra was third in the event at 5:09.21.

Lady Trojan Anyssa Villarreal finished sixth at 55-8 in the discus. Mitch Chavarria was fifth in the long jump at 12-10.5 while Alyssa Silva finished sixth in the event with a jump of 12-7. In the triple jump, Silva placed fifth at 27-9, and Chavarria was sixth at 27-2.

Raelynn Arrisola placed first in the 2,400-meter run with a time of 9:40. The 400-meter relay team of Keely Taylor, Natalie Rivas, Makayla Martinez and Chavarria finished fifth. Arrisola placed first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:42. Heaven Rodriguez was third in the event at 2:49, and Claudia Carranco was sixth with a time of 2:54.

Isabelle Montez was sixth in the 400-meter dash in 1:16.13. Silva placed fifth in the 300-meter hurdles at 56.70. Victoria Mercado was sixth in the race at 58.52. Maria Navarro placed third in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 6:27. Heaven Rodriguez was close by in fourth place at 6:29. The relay team of Natalie Rivas, Chavarria, Makayla Martinez and Raelynn Arrisola placed second in the 1,600-meter relay with a good time of 4:39.69.
