The Karnes City Craft Club held its meeting at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Karnes City on Feb. 14. The meeting was called to order by President Shirley Frazier and the members recited the pledge and the Lord’s Prayer. The minutes were read and the treasurer gave her report. The birthdays for February were Maxie McNally, Diane Maitland, and Joyce Soefje. We were so pleased that Joyce Soefje has become a member of the club. Birthday cards had been sent to them and the group sang the birthday song. We also were pleased to have Janice Green as a visitor.

Everyone received an attractive new year book made by Beverly Davis. The business meeting was then adjourned. The door prize was won by Jo Ann Kroll and the hostess gift was won by Beverly Henke. They each received a red ceramic heart shaped bowl appropriate to use for a Valentine’s decoration.

The hostesses for the day were Treva Fossler, Melba Wolff, and Alice Poore. The craft they presented was making a paper gift bag from construction paper. It was folded it in the shape of a bag and then decorated with hearts, flowers, and a label that said “Love” and “Happy Valentines.” After making the craft everyone enjoyed refreshments and fellowship.

The next meeting will be March 14, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Karnes City. The hostesses will be Pat Hemby, Myra Patton, and Joan Smith.
