West scored a single run in the second to grab an early 1-0 lead. Another run in the bottom of the fourth off Kremers made it 2-0 heading into the fifth.
The Beeville bats got going as Joe Rey Garza reached and was knocked in by Elijah Fuentes with another base hit. Both players ended the game with two hits apiece with each Trojan also stroking a double against the Warriors. It was a 2-1 and still anybody’s game through five frames.
Beeville had seven hits in the game while Kremers limited the West boys to just three hits. The score remained 2-1 until the bottom of the sixth. The Warriors pushed across two insurance runs as Beeville failed to produce a run in the top of the seventh.
Garza was 2-3 on the night with one run scored. Fuente had two hits in four official trips to the plate. Kremers had one base hit in two at-bats. Catcher Daniel Amador went 2-3 in the loss.
The Beeville defense committed two errors and the offense left seven runners on base over the seven innings.
The Trojans played John Paul II on Thursday night in Corpus Christi and will then host the Victoria East Titans on Tuesday at Joe Hunter Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. in that contest.
