The 20th Annual Coleto Creek Kids Fishing Tournament will be held Saturday, June 1 from 7 a.m. to noon at the Coleto Creek Park, located at 365 Coleto Park Rd., which is midway between Goliad and Victoria off of U.S. Highway 59.

Plans are being completed by officials at Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority’s Coleto Creek Park and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to celebrate National Fishing and Boating Week on June 1-9. Academy Sports & Outdoors, GDF Suez-Coleto Creek Power, the Buddy Hartl Memorial Fund, TPWD Game Warden Association, Coleto Bassmasters and the Family of Megan Nicole Daughtrey have all signed on again as sponsors to help insure that all kids go home winners.

The event is open to all youth between the ages of 2 and 16. There will be no registration fee, but all children must officially register to compete in the Tournament by 9 a.m. on June 1 to be eligible for prizes, which will be awarded for the heaviest stringer in each of four age groups, (2-6, 7-9, 10-12 and 13-16 years).

For information, call 361-575-6366, check or visit the Coleto Creek Park office.
