The Skidmore-Tynan varsity softball girls scored first on Tuesday night in Odem, but the experienced Lady Owls flew back into the contest and went on to record a 17-2 win over the visiting Lady Cats.

S-T got one run in the top of the first to start well against the district-leading Lady Owls. Odem fought right back and took a 4-1 lead into the second.

The Lady Cats scored again in the top of the second to make it a 4-2 ball game but the Odem ladies powered their way to lead 10-2 after two complete.

The Lady Owls went on to score five more runs in the third and finished with two more in the bottom of the fourth to capture a 17-2 win.

Aaliyah East was on the mound for the Lady Cats. She struck out four Owls and gave up 10 hits in the loss and walked just one Odem hitter.

Suzanna Yzaguirre accounted for one of the S-T runs with a home run. Kristen Gonzales went 1-2 with a run for the Lady Cats. Jennifer Pueblo and Alexis Lopez collected one hit in two trips.

The Lady Cats played at Taft on Thursday afternoon. The junior varsity and varsity teams will be in Banquete on Tuesday evening to face the Lady Bulldogs.
