She was born Jan. 23, 1914, to Tiofilo and Susana (Moya) Hernandez in Blanconia. She married Rosendo Carabajal on Nov. 22, 1932, in Berclair. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Carabajal was preceded in death by her parents, Tiofilo and Susana Hernandez; her husband, Rosendo Carabajal; two sisters, Maria Ramirez and Manuela Garza; a brother, Merced Hernandez Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Emma Carabajal; and a son-in-law, Antonio Alcorta Sr.
Survivors include a daughter, Baselisa “Bache” Alcorta of Skidmore; a son, Johnny Carabajal Sr. of Beeville; eight grandchildren, Rachel Ramoz, Tony Alcorta Jr., Elena Salas, Johnny Carabajal Jr., Melissa Carabajal, Mark Carabajal, Randy Carabajal and Brian Carabajal; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Monday at Treviño Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there at 7 o’clock that evening.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Skidmore, with Father Eddie Garcia officiating. Altar servers were her great-grandchildren, Eddie Salas Jr., Emily Jane Thea Carabajal and John Ross Carabajal III.
Pallbearers were Johnny Carabajal Jr., Tony Alcorta Jr., Brian Carabajal, William Ramoz, Kevin Ramoz and Eddie Salas Jr.
Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.
