She was born Aug. 17, 1942, in Beeville to Alejandro Hernandez Garza and Paula (Paiz) Garza.
Survivors include her husband, Eloy Valdez; a son, Eddy Valdez of Rosamond, Calif.; two daughters, Patti (Mike) Kirk of Canyon Country, and Melissa (Toby) Brittain of Lancaster; four brothers, Guadalupe Garza, Salvador Garza, Alejandro Garza and Jessy Garza, all of Beeville; two sisters, Felipa Salter and Rosemary Garza; sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral was held Friday, March 20, at Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary Chapel in Lancaster.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
