Four members of the Tip of Texas Chapter of the 99ers, a group of women pilots in this area, climbed on top of Beeville Municipal Airport's hangar to paint the city's name in orange outlined in black. The project was the 615th since 1954. The women make their own money for such projects and do the work themselves as a service to aviation. Women participating in Friday's job were Vicky Knocke, Denise Knocke, Pauline Glasson and Bobbie Turner.
