GOLIAD – Some new twists have been added to this year’s Mission Tour de Goliad.

The Goliad County Chamber of Commerce’s 22nd annual event sponsored by GDF Suez-Coleto Creek Power will be held Saturday.

There will once again be 10-, 30-, 50-, or 65-mile tours, but the routes have altered from past bike rides.

“They will all go different ways and end up in the exact same place, the San Antonio River Authority’s Branch Park,” the chamber’s Bonnee Riggs said Monday.

Riggs said there will also be a meal after the race at the Branch Park. Door prizes will also be given away. Weather is expected to be cool with a chance of showers.

Registration can be completed online at and requires payment by credit or debit card and includes additional handling fees by or email the chamber for a registration form at

“We’re kind of getting a pile of them in now,” Riggs said. “We’re close to 300 and we usually have 100 or so register at the door. Our goal is 500 and I definitely think we’ll be way over that.”
